Built by language learners,for learners
Spokira exists because both founders lived the same problem you do: knowing a language on paper but freezing when it's time to actually speak.
Why we built this
Most language apps drill vocabulary and grammar. They're great at training your memory. But when a real conversation starts, you freeze, because no app ever trained your mouth.
Pratim and Sacha come from two different cultures, Indian and French, and struggled to connect with each other's families and friends. So they built Spokira: first for French, and eventually for Hindi and Marathi too.
Short shadowing sessions with native speakers and AI-powered pronunciation feedback, designed to make speaking feel natural instead of terrifying.
“Language is connection. Spokira exists to make speaking feel natural, not scary.”
Voice meets engineering
Pratim leads communication and positioning at Spokira, making sure every touchpoint helps learners feel that speaking mistakes are normal and fixable.
Sacha leads product and engineering. He previously built the low-latency transcription and closed-caption features at Stream, a chat and video infrastructure platform used by billions of users. He brings that real-time speech experience directly to Spokira's pronunciation feedback.
Together they bring clarity of message and depth of technical execution to a French speaking experience that feels personal and honest.
Pratim's credentials
Languages we speak, combined
Train your mouth,
not your streak
We believe language learning should focus on what matters: actually speaking. Spokira is built around short, focused practice sessions that train your pronunciation, rhythm, and confidence, not your ability to maintain a daily streak.
Speaking first
Every feature is designed to get you speaking real French, not just reading or tapping.
Real situations
Practice with native speakers in realistic scenarios you'll actually encounter.
Built with care
Created by two people who genuinely struggled with the same speaking challenges you face.
